Beachgoer, the problems in Santa Barbara at Rincon Beach, More Mesa and other locales are unrelated to San Onofre. The Marines have tolerated clothing optional people on their portion of the beach for years. Clothing optional activities have not jeopardized use of either the State Park section or the Marine base portion. The Marines have always been good neighbors. They will politely request people move north back to the State Park when they are doing training exercises that require beachfront usage.
I'm not advocating open sex on the beach. I'll admit that my wife and I have partaken in discreet love on numerous occasions. I'm not the morale police. Again, this is only on Marine property. I would never consider these activities on State Park property, because that could lead to closure of the State Park section, which ultimately would force more people south.
It's a beautiful place. Beachgoer, I encourage you to go there to see for yourself.
