As a local private property owner I am concerned about the fires that get lit by deepcreekers. If the fire danger gets really bad,it is wise to protect the forest by educating the public and increasing patrols to insure against illegal campfires. At our last DCV meeting attended by the USFS,they stated they have budgeted for regular nightly patrols this spring and summer. Im sure that they will be bringing their ticket books as well.
Last summers fire closure did one thing.....the forest didnt burn. It was a temporary measure due to the dry forest and a massive dyoff of trees. And.....temporarily it worked. I would like to thank our friend Mr Wizard for sharing this issue with us.
