Re: Osprey at Deep Creek

In years past I never saw any Ospreys in my hikes at Deep Creek. Then about five years ago I saw one. Since them I have seen a few. On the subject of a bird of prey with a fish in its talons. A long time ago I was in construction, an electrician working on residential homes, and one day out here in the desert we were working on a home in Apple Valley. I was out by our work truck when suddenly a Red Tailed Hawk flew right over me with a pretty large Big Mouthed Bass wriggling in its claws. Such a strange site, hot day, in the desert! I later found out that there was a golf course nearby, with little lakes on it, and that there were Bass in them. Ahh, mystery solved
