Yup, dispite a growing and vocal public against the Fee Demo Program and a obvious failure of the forest service to account for the funds generated from the program, the American Recreation Coalition have successfully lobbied to make this program permanent. This is the first step, to approve recreation fees for the national parks and monuments ( Yes we have been paying to enter national parks and monuments for many years but has anyone noticed that the fees have skyrocketted since 1997, the inception of the fee demo program) If this passes expect to see even higher fees at the gates of our national parks and monuments, more campsites being built to accomodate RVs and more commercially run and built consessionares.
