Ever since I met a punch of fun PCT hikers out at the creek a few weeks back, I've been combing the PCT blogs looking for their progress. Tonight I found a blog that mentioned some of the hikers I met, but also the snakebite on Memorial Day. I quote:
"However, at one point there was a bit of drama when a girl got bit by a rattlesnake. Apparently a guy caught it right after and held it up to identify it and it was the most dangerous local rattlesnake: a Mohave Green. Shortly after, a helicopter circled around the springs and made a daring landing onto one of the cliffs in order to airlift the girl out and to the hospital. Needless to say, we were all a bit more on guard after that…"
