It might be Toyon. Toyon is everywhere around here. It is not Holly but it looks like Holly. It might be where the name Hollywood came from; it is not known where the name Hollywood came from but one of the best explanations is that Hollywood is named due to the prevalence of Toyon. October is the time of year for Toyon. I think Toyon is slightly more Orange than the other berry suggested previously. Toyon tastes like an Apple but just a bit spicy (not hot spicy).
