An old girlfriend of mine got bit by a rattler. The closest hospital was a Catholic one. My girlfriend was a solid Catholic , and after she showed the nurse nuns her cross and talked to them, they ended up treating her for free! She never had to pay anything! but this was the exception, not the rule, As Rick's link shows, it can be costly.
