Today was a beautiful day down at Deep Creek. Blue skies, warm temps down in the canyon, and the creek was still quite refreshing to swim in. While hiking in the canyon I found that the summer thunderstorms we had a while back in the summer, brought sand, small bits of charcol, and sooty mud down into to Deep Creek, coming down kinely Creek, and the burnt hills above the PCT just west of the Kinely Creek Canyon, which all came from the burn area of the Pinnacles Fire. More sand in some areas, but also deep black mud in calmer spots in the creek. A strong smell of soot and mud in some places. Nice breezes blowing and various trees are starting to turn fall colors. I was having such a great time, didn't want to leave, as usual :-)
