CURRENT FIRE USE RESTRICTIONS AND GUIDELINES
San Bernardino National Forest
Wood and Charcoal fires are ONLY permitted in agency furnished fire rings at designated picnic areas and campgrounds.
No wood or charcoal fires are permitted at developed sites without public road access.
No wood or charcoal fires are permitted at yellow post sites.
Recreational Shooting is limited to locations operated under special use permit only: except those engaged in legal hunting.
An approved spark arrester is required for any internal combustion engine operated off state or county highways or designated forest roads. These include chainsaws, generators, motorcycles, and off-highway vehicles.
Smoking is limited to enclosed vehicles, developed recreation sites, and areas cleared of vegetation three feet in diameter.
A permit is required for welding or operating any torch device with an open flame or for use of any explosive device.
Fireworks are always prohibited on the San Bernardino National Forest. Tracer, armor piercing, steel core, and Teflon ammunitions are also prohibited, as is discharging a firearm at any exploding target.
