ADVISORY FOR URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOODING UNTIL 4 PM TODAY FOR
PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
ORANGE COUNTY COASTAL AREAS...SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY
MOUNTAINS...SAN BERNARDINO AND RIVERSIDE COUNTY VALLEYS - THE
INLAND EMPIRE...SANTA ANA MOUNTIANS
INCLUDING...BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING
LOCATIONS...BANNING...WRIGHTWOOD...BIG BEAR LAKE...FOREST
FALLS...HEMET...RIVERSIDE...SAN BERNARDINO...FULLERTON...LA
HABRA...ANAHEIM...NEWPORT BEACH...IRVINE...SAN CLEMENTE...ALISO
VIEJO...DANA POINT
AT 945 AM...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR SHOWS BANDS OF
SHOWERS...HEAVY AT TIMES...MOVING INTO NORTHWEST ORANGE COUNTY AND
INTO THE NORTH PORTIONS OF THE INLAND EMPIRE AND THE SAN BERNARDINO
COUNTY MOUNTAINS. DURING THE AFTERNOON THE RAIN IS EXPECTED TO
SPREAD SOUTH INTO THE SANTA ANA MOUNTAINS AND PORTIONS OF THE INLAND
EMPIRE.
BRIEF HEAVY RAINFALL MAY CAUSE URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOODING
THROUGH 4 PM. EXCESSIVE RUNOFF MAY CAUSE FLOODING OF SMALL CREEKS
AND STREAMS...HIGHWAYS AND UNDERPASSES. ADDITIONALLY...COUNTRY ROADS
AND FARMLANDS ALONG THE BANKS OF CREEKS AND STREAMS AND OTHER LOW
LYING AREAS ARE SUBJECT TO FLOODING.
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOU TO CROSS
SAFELY.
