I think the SoCal naturist Groups will be hitting the springs again this weekend, so those weekends can change the dynamic. I remember fondly only going on weekends 20 years ago when I first started visiting, and it was very much and always a naturist space and place. I think everyone now carrying a sophisticated camera everywhere they go has changed things overall. Weekdays for me, when I canby neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I don't remember anymore how I got my copy, which is only electronic, a pdf scan of the book. I can share the link for download, but I am not sure this site will let me post the link here. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bi4TWepSK4bskhcx7DhGYRBFIoVlRrj2/view?usp=share_linkby neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I remember a young kid showing me down there how he could go underneath the big rock in the creek that makes the Arizona pool/Phoenix pool. I wouldn't do it for a bunch of bucks, but this kid was swimming under it somehow, a little. Back then. I wonder how the pool will look when the waters finally recede. It does seem like the rock has been pushed into the creek further. The pool was so beautifuby neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I can't report on the road either but have seen whoohaas posting videos on Instagram and the like of themselves speeding down the Bowen Ranch Road, even though it is liquid mud in places and hitting big washed out areas and puddles from the rains that had not disappeared. With the dry/windy turn this week, I guess even that intel is likely old, but if things do dry out on the Road, the drivers hiby neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Cooler temperature brought me out for a late summer visit. But not many others: I found myself one of two cars at the old Bowen parking (new campsite owners). Saw no one on the trail but some critters. I knew the rain would effect the creek, but thought it would be settled down by now; was not the case. The creek is running chocolate milk brown, which I have not even really seen during winter raiby neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
thanks as always jobee. on my last trip about 2 weeks ago i had a really great time, saw lots of friends, and also did not see lots of trash though there were campers and fires. in the morning, some guys were trying to soak in the Anniversary pool, without understanding that the shower pipe had been opened up and so there was almost no water in the pool, they were just sitting in it anyway warminby neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

And as of 2 days ago, the Arizona/Phoenix Pool was fully under water, and there were 2 feet of mud in the Womb from when it was under the creek water. Sandbags trying to block the creek from flowing into Crab Cooker and Serenity pools were not really keeping the creek out yet. By now ... I expect that flooding is much higher for the rest of the week. Yesterday the main road (18) up to Arrowhead wby neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
nice jobe. thanks for the report and sharing all that. i just want to add that there is one specific guy who has been going to the springs a lot lately - to hike out trash and deal with graffiti - like a few weeks back, someone tagged the big rock in the Phoenix pool with the tag "s e v e n" and they hit spots on the trail from the dam with it too and he went down the next day to removeby neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

I still have not seen any stories on the death at the springs. I won't post all that has been sent to me in individual messages, because I'm not the news and not sure if it is all accurate, but it seems to have been a local person who had been to the springs before but not too many times, and wanted to go again before he died. A man in his 50s perhaps. He had a seizure I am told in the night andby neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
They are definitely working on their land. Maybe someone else here who goes can comment on whether they care for the springs. I do doubt it. Got a msg that Tuesday night after I hiked out, into this morning, Wednesday, that someone died at the springs. Reported in the middle of the night, the body air lifted out this morning. Sent me a photo too of this. I don't know who it could have been. Noby neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I have a partner who is compromised in terms of her health, so had to take COVID very seriously. In other words, it has been the longest I've ever gone without visiting the springs. But I was happy to make it back on Tuesday. I've been wanting to go back for a while but frankly, more than COVID, have been hesitating mainly due to what COVID has done to the place, the crowds that seem to always beby neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

Crazy land. Maybe the campground is ok, I don't know, I haven't used it at all yet. But what is worse than claiming you are cleaning and caring for the springs when you are not? Jobe - you care for the springs, and have for years. You taught me things about caring for the springs. Most of the regulars on this board care for the springs. Graffiti removal ? Anatranik, the "new parking campground" _is_ the old parking campground - I know, its confusing. The new campground took over 1/2 of Bowen Ranch's old area, the parking and camping area of BR is now the parking camping area of the new "business" next door. The hike is a bit further now if you park at Bowen Ranch, you have to hike around the old parking area. The hike from theby neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

Yes, a woman in her early 40s died yesterday of heat exhaustion hiking in Malibu Creek state park, in the Santa Monica mountains. After that, they closed the Santa Monica mountain park trails. Today they closed all the nearby National Forests, including SBNF - so Deep Creek is officially closed to all access due to extreme fire danger with the heat. The notice was sent by a local resident and people reposted it - asking for public comment on the Campsite proposal, with liquor sales and store. The email addresses on the poster seem to be defunct for most people, and whatever email were sent have not been acknowledged. It is obviously not worth responding to this. Jobe in the other current post is more or less local to the springs. Those he found down at the springs are more or less local to the springs. Don't go to the hot springs until the social distancing order is lifted. Only if you are local to the hot springs would that be OK - don't drive to far away communities during this moment even to hike in the wilderness. And if you are hiking in Deep Creek as an area, what are the chances that the hot springs will be possible to visit and keep social distancing in place?
