I'm up here at my brothers house near the end of the eastern ( Pit River ) arm of Lake Shasta. I wish I had a digital camera so I could show you all the veiw from his homesite. Mt. Shasta to the North, Mt. lassen to the east and the Trinity alps off to the west with snow on the higher peaks. All around are pines, oaks manzanita and many other assorted trees. Rick, Since I forgot my password looks like the magic puter machine made up a new one for me and sent it to my e-mail site. This new password is not as easy as the one I " thought " I had. Rick, is there a way to change my password to whatever I want again so I can remember my login password more easily. Of course its funny since I forgot the first " easy " password.by Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

JOBE, eek, I can't tell if those are clues or riddles. Looks like I'm going to have to break out the magic crystal ball on this one :-)by Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
JOBE, So we know eachother, or at least you have met me. Any hints that might indicate to me who you are, I'm just curious :-) No problem if you choose to remain anonymous :-)by Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Rick, I checked out the information you suggested. I would say its certainly possible that the discussed bacteria may have caused the symptoms that those of us affected experienced. The small red itchy bumps I had were tiny cmpared to what is shown in the picture. I did see one person get out of the Womb at DCHS who had big red spots much more similar to what the picture at the site you suggestedby Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Naked Man, As katrina tells it, the Bowen Family, the original builders of the Bowen house, built thier home by accident on the wrong property. When this was found out the county created another tax ID number which covered the house and a 40 acre easement around it so the Bowen family could have access to thier residence. Katrina purchased the ownership of the house and easement by contacting theby Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Naked Man, When someone buys a peice of property, before the purchase is made, they " desire " to own it, and this property does not " belong " to them, previous to them buying it. That would be the case with anyone gaining ownership of something. So perhaps all acts of gaining ownership are fishy :-) You talk of " desiring to own land " in the same sentence as whereby Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Naked Man, If you find all of this information about the ownership of the of the Bowen Ranch and the issue of whether the old Moss Mill road should, or will be opened, is amusing and absurd and lacks no merit or basis, then I would say, why worry yourself so much about it :-) Katrina is asserting that there are rights under current laws that are being denied related to these two issues, the Ranchby Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
40 acres on one side, 40 acres on the other, and you in the middle Katrina. Maybe that was in mind for Mike, Kevin and Tanya when they made the recent purchase of that property. One big happy family up there, eh :-)by Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Katrina, The fences that were installed after the Willow Fire are still up. They are at various places along Route 4. Thier purpose was to prevent people from driving off the designated open routes on to a number of side roads that are in the area. Old route 2 is one of these fenced side roads. At the time these fences were installed the BLM lands were closed and you could not park along the openby Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Cares, I know there are those who will find these discussions to be boring or will question thier merit. However, I feel that it is important that there be a place like this forum where the differant parties can vent feelings and speak thier minds on the various issues related to DCHS. Actually if you read through past post many differant subjects, besides issues related to Mike Castro are discusby Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

Randy, the weekdays, specifically Monday through Thursday are definitely less crowded than weekends. I haven't really seen that the mix of people is really any differant, wether they are local or from places further out. Also on any given weekday you could find anything from just a few folks to as much as 20 to 30 on some days. Jona, I advocate that if the Bowen Ranch is considered by the BLM and the Forestry to be an allowable and reasonable point of access to DCHS then another, strictly public point of entry should also be availabe, as is presently the case with Route 4 to route 3. If you were to consider that usage of a particular access route was a means to gage its convenience to the springs visitors then its complby Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Ron, Wish I could make it for the cleanup day but I will be on a 5 day trip to northern California over next weekend. Glad to see you again at the springs yesterday :-) Maybe Katrina would know how to find out which day is the cleanup.by Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

I hit the springs yesterday and had a real nice visit with many regulars. Three Rangers parked at the Route 3 trailhead and came down to the springs at around 12 PM apparently looking for some mountain bike riders they had seen previously seen headed up the PCT down in the area of the Mohave Dam. The pair of riders were actually soaking in the Arizona pool when the rangers indentified them and prby Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

Jona, It is clear that there are people that have been negatively affected by Mike Castro's activities. In my opinion it is foolish for you to suggest that Katrina has created some complex fantasy in presenting information of past negative events related to Castro's actions. She has taken the time to collect a great deal of evidence in various forms to support her claims. It is also clear that maby Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Naked Man, Concerning improvements to Route 4 and 3, these roads cross BLM and Forestry land and I serriously doubt that either of these agencies are interested in doing any work to make them easier to travel. On the other hand they are the only reasonable option for the general public who chooses not to access through the private property of the Bowen Ranch. I have some friends who have been visitors to the springs for many years that say they are going to the springs Friday, Saturday and Sunday. They will most like likely be staying at the Bowen Ranch. Thanks for the info NM. Now that its warm we probably won't be hearing any more about the rash problem since people will be in the creek instead. I'm hoping that the current new El Nino that is brewing will bring us some good rains this winter and maybe clean up this problem along the way :-)by Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Ron, There are alot of catfish and chubs in Deep Creek. Also after heavy flooding years trout can even be caught in the stream above and below the hotsprings. I've seen people pull trout out of the big pool in the creek out in front of the hotpool area. Generally like in recent years when the rainfall has been low the trout are killed off by the warm creek waters as the weather gets hotter. Ron, I,ve seen people camped at the JF3 trailhead a number of times. I would think that its far enough away from the creek. If you wanted to find out for sure best to call up the ranger station that covers that area. One very important thing is to be very careful about doing any campfires. Be sure to consult the local Forestry about the rules for having campfires. Its so easy for a spark to startby Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
