........and the black limosene sits in the sun, watching it's arc across the sky as the heat generates and dissapates with each passing day. I'm not sure what became of the dogs. I was born naked and being so is a totaly natural state. Our culture and media plays a big role in equating sex with nudity. I'm lucky to own enough land in a rural area to be able to do as I please when it comes to my comfort or state of being. I love the warmer weather when I can be free to stand as I was born under the stars at night or in the morning sun. I really dont want to offend anyone oby LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

Oh yea...i forgot about this place. I was driving home from Morro Bay late at night a couple of weeks ago and stopped at gaviota hot springs for a short break. It was about 1am and I was a little paranoid about getting rousted so I didnt hike up there to soak. It was very quiet however with that majical sound of water running down the creek under the trees illuminated with full moonlight. Rangeby LaughingBear - California Hot Springs

My ol Granny used to call it "dirty socks hotsprings" back in the day when 101 was a narrow 2 lane road. I havent been there in a while but I do remember the great mud and sulphery water that is great for healing. From SB,take 101 north to where it turns inland. I think the exit says highway 1 Lompoc. Get off freeway and the parking area is on the right hand side of 101. Hike about 1/by LaughingBear - California Hot Springs
Out here we have a building code called desert living or DL. It's a rural area. We all own acres. If someone wants to improve their life and land then it's cool with me. Quonset huts are kinda cool, a throwback to a different era. Geez Jobe, look at all of the crap in the village over the years. One residence is built out of old garage doors and it passed a code enforcement inspection. Things aby LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
An unfortunate individual who's environment when growing up no doubt contributed to his troubles today. I'm thinking that like most alcoholics, if you take away the booze he would sober up to be a decent human being. The cops know where to find him if they were to look. Much like his life, his options are limited.by LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
It looks like he moved out Jobe. Somebody turned the water back on to the neighbors he cut off. So ends another chapter in the water wars. I believe he was evicted after a falling out with the guy he was going to buy the place from. Since the whole shebang didn't involve me, I steered clear of the whole mess except for providing water to a couple of the neighbors last summer. The cows and steers are not agressive. A range bull is a different story. If faced with a life endangering situation try popping a couple of .45 slugs into it's skull. That is usually enough to rectify the problem. Seriously, the biggest danger those cows present is slipping after stepping in cow ****. The cattle lease is reviewed every year prior to issuing a permit to release them onto the alby LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

The man who owns the cattle lives at the old Paradice ranch. He's very reasonable and straight forward. If you see cattle down at the creek, stop by and let him know on your way out. It may (or may not) expediate their removal back to the round mountain grazing allotment. Illegal motorcycle riders have cut the fences in many places compounding the problem.by LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

The Limo sits in an open field forlorn and windswept. The desert sun relentless as the winter stars. A full moon illuminates the K rats within taking shelter from the elements as the Limo's former occupant sits elsewhere awaiting his fate. And what is the going rate on private lands? No wonder there is a big budget deficit. These rates amount to welfare and preferential treatment in exploitation of our public lands in my opinion.by LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

It sounds like your hike really bombed at the end! Helicopters are fun to ride in Mr Wizard. Back in the early 80s I worked on the BLM's helitac 554 there in Apple Valley. We spent the summer flying around chasing lightning strikes and that filled the ol adrenaline cravings. Flying AND playing with fire. It's too bad you didn't get to watch them fire that Korean war relic into oblivion. I am loby LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

A couple of years ago, a young woman froze to death after becoming lost in a snowstorm here. Her and her boyfriend stumbled into a neighboring property where they took shelter in an old broken truck. She succumbed to extreme hypothermia and her boyfriend survived. Snow is pretty but the cold is deadly. If you are unprepared in this country, you may be the next victim.
