This was posted by USFS PIO John Miller this morning: small fire north of arrowhead You might have heard a few sirens and seen some helicopters and aircraft this morning. The fire agencies responded to a wildland fire down on 173 northeast from where the road turns to dirt. The fire was off of a user defined path locally known as the Bradford trail. There was about 6 inches of rain up in Lake Arrowhead. There would have been extra water in Deep Creek because the Arrowhead Lake Association forgot to open the gates to allow the water to go into Lake Arrowhead so the extra rainwater headed down to Deep Creek. A huge tree was knocked over this winter and there is a bee hive in it right next to the trail. Saturday while I was calmly watching the bee activity one of them just flew up landed on my arm and stung me. So, I don't think these are ordinary honey bees.
