07:10 am: left LB to drive to Bradford Ridge 09:10 am: Arrive at Entrance and saw a few cars. Nice to hear that small creek 10:30 am: arrived at DCHS after a 1h:15 minutes. Since all existing GPX files (such as the one I found previously and linked here, or Alltrails) are all the right fork, which leads to that steep hill, I attempted to create GPX file that details the left fork that goesby LBNguyen - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Thanks for your work. I haven't measured the pool Temps before. I remember in terms of heat Crab cooker > Arizona > Anniversary > Serenity > Womb. Before the floods, was Womb on average 99 degrees? Since there no expected rain for Sunday, the creek should recedes a bit by then. I guess it 90% likely I'll go then.by LBNguyen - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Hi, I'm considering going to DCHS on Sunday depending on conditions of the Phoenix Pool. From the Instagram posts, it seems all pools are now above the creek. But Phoenix Pool still have some leaks. Can you explain more about the leaks? I haven't been there during winter yet. Btw, anyone knows who manages the DeepCreekVolunteers Instagram Page? Thanks for all those updates.by LBNguyen - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Is it even worth going? From the looks of it, only Anniversary Pool is high enough? I'm assuming from the pictures that even Arizona pool is underwater and may be underwater till March?by LBNguyen - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Weather shows 30% rain at noon and increasing. If you are fine hiking back in the rain, see below If you have a 4WD, and can handle the dirt road being muddy on your way back... Also remember with The rains, Bowen ranch side will have you cross the creek itself. Personally I would suggest you to take Bradford Ridge Path since it paved road and you won't be crossing the river (as longby LBNguyen - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
* 6:30am: Left Long Beach * 8:20 am: Arrived at Bowen. As noted by yesterday post, price did go up to $10 per person. Talking to someone latter, they said it was $10 last week. So price went up between 2 weeks ago and last week. There was about 6 cars parked. A guy that came after us passed us * 9:30 am: my party arrived at DCHS for a 56 min hike. DCHP remained clean after yesterday cleanby LBNguyen - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Wow, so much drama. Glad I'm going tomorrow instead of planned today. Let see if my trip is quiet or not Wait, price went up from $5 to $10? It was $5 last time I went... Damn, I guess I'll start going Bradford Next time.by LBNguyen - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
So mentioned in another thead, I was taking 2 people for their first time. My party left Long Beach at 7, arrived to Bowen Ranch at around 9:15 am. Drive on dirt road was decent, maybe 2 patches of Mud but nothing difficult. I thought recent rain would made it bad, but I guess not? Maybe it wasn't heavy rain in High Desert vs LA area, or it had time to dry off At Bown Ranch, I noticed theby LBNguyen - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Typically how are the DCHS after the rain? I was planning to bring someone their for their first time. Typically I use a 4Runner for Bowen Ranch, but had a case were drive was difficult with the mud. Other option is going via Bradford Ridge. Except I'm not certain of his ability level. The right steep fork is a hard NO. Left ridge climb is maybe, but not sure of that pathby LBNguyen - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
My end: Found 12:20 pm on Rock spring road on wấy to Bowen Ranch. Drivers on the road said GSD were there for a few hours. Local rancher help get them into my car and led me to Apple Valley Animal Shelter. AVAS is normally open on Saturday but closed to an event. Took them to see a Vet to scanned for chip, no chip. Brought then home with me to Long Beach so they are cared for then. Sunday: Caby LBNguyen - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

Done. Shelter are open Tuesday so have to wait for that one. One Vet told me to post on high desert lost pets FB page, so it being shared around there.by LBNguyen - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I'm considering 2 possibility 1) Abandon 2) Lost from their owner. Was considering it more case 1 since no microchip, no collar, nothing to help identify. They look pure breed German Shepard too, so kinda high value to at least microchip But they seemed well enough that someone may have owned them. they seemed only bad considering since it was few hours in the desert (a driver someone saby LBNguyen - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I was going to go to the hot springs today on Bowen Ranch route. Woke up later then I wanted. So was near Bowen Ranch road around 12:20 pm, and I found a pair of German Shepard on the road. Canceled my hot spring plans cause that. Took them to the a near by Vet, and there is no microchip. Planning to adopt them if no luck with owner. They with me in Long Beach atm. The site deep creek Volunteers should give some details on the Bradford ridge trail. A good trip report to reference https://deepcreekhotsprings.net/dchs/forum/read.php?1,26081 For your questions on gps, I use the app GPX viewer to view GPX files. I found this when I went a few months ago https://m.gpsies.com/map.do?fileId=glroaavxntuvmtjr However the file does not show the differenby LBNguyen - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Well even though it seem like 100, everyone spread out. I consider it if pools look full, but none were even half full. Regardless, weekday better idea since less people in general, may even have the entire pool to yourself. I would actually recommend her first trip to be Bowen Ranch: Much more scenic view compared to Bradford Ridge.by LBNguyen - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
My 5th trip to DCHS First time going to DCHS during spring time. Typically go in October/ November, once after Christmas. Brought a friend (A) to show her DCHS for the first time. Told her about 3 entrances, she actually prefers the South Side, Bradford Ridge, with reasoning that if total time was the same, might as well spend more time hiking vs diving From my earlier trip report, I wasby LBNguyen - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Did not personally see the incident, but saw events before and around that per my post. It was a group of 3~4 riders, someone said they came down from Bowen Ranch, though I saw them enter DCHS from PCT on the east side. They left around 3:15pm towards PCT west side, though had an incident with a NiOC group dog. Apparently the crossed the river at some point, then got ahead of NiOC, forcinby LBNguyen - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I did not see the axe till he go in the car. And it was a bit past sunset so didn't a good luck. IDK why i gave a ride, first time I gave a ride to a hitch hiker. Felt in a good mood from hot spring.by LBNguyen - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
So that explained that Fire Truck/Paramedic, ambulance truck I saw on my drive back (see my topic regarding that). The Naturalist group mentioned that Bowen Ranch path is not good for horse....by LBNguyen - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Whatever happened to the detailed trip reports? My 4th time to DCHS, 3rd time from Bowen Ranch. Went solo. Left Long Beach @ 8 am Arrived at Bowen Ranch around 10 am. Was planning on Free Hiking, but saw a group gather that had a few Kids, so hiked out in speedo (and sandals). Not sure why there was kids there, and some members of said group was naked, but felt like I should not freehikeby LBNguyen - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I didn't use the Slack Line today, but it seems to be bad conditions? Most of the instagram photos doesn't show the full line: It a red lined tied to a white/red line. Looked useable still, but i say it better to replace (though after winter flood season?)by LBNguyen - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Hum, Liked Arizona pool the most, so guess not worth going for another month I guess. IIRC, contemplation pool is the one facing the beach under the trees. From BRT, it should be first pool you see. From the the Bowen Ranch, you have to climb rock over Crab cooker. In Novemember, that Pool was not warm at all.by LBNguyen - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Would you have pictures of the 2nd split for the less Steep path? In my story a while back where my friends got traumatized by steep path going down so we decided to take less steep going up. Ended up going on PCT since we reached the rainbow bridge. Kinda stupid on my friends part for trying to take an unfamiliar path back, but we were looking for a split in the trail for the less steep pathby LBNguyen - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Would you have a picture of the Phoenix Pool? Doesn't seem worth it go DCHS in winter months with the rain if the hot pools are submerged.by LBNguyen - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Read my now posted trip report. Snow shouldn't be a concern, but mud is. See my experience as also first time. Just drive slow, try to drive on the least mudier spkts, and speed up when going up hill. If you get stuck, reverse and then go floor it But I saw many low 2WD cars at Bowen Ranch that idk how they got there. Personally I would wait about 1.5 week, if not a full week, after rainby LBNguyen - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Borrowed parents 2006 Toyota 4Runner, which is I assume is 2WD (not that knowledge in car details) Couldn't find a friend to go with so decided to go by myself. Left LB at 8:30 Arrived at Bowen Ranch at 10:30. About 1h was freeway, 30 city drive, then 30 min dirt road. Dirt path was very very muddy, and you can see snow on the side. My first time driving in muddy conditions... At 3 pointby LBNguyen - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
So a bit about myself first: Moderately fit. Do better going uphill rather then down hill. I have done some activities where I was barefoot a few years ago. I'm usually highly tolerant of both hot and cold (walked in an ice cold creek in sandals rather then using rocks a bit after Christmas in Arizona). Reason for cold resistance is I did swim as a kid, thus used to cold water. Friday 10/28:by LBNguyen - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
