Thanks Wizard! I haven't hiked in from the Bowen side in years but I'm interested to see how the new campground is. Incidentally, I ended up heading out to Piru Creek due to heat, shorter hike, and had the entire place to myself.by awpangle - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I haven't been to the springs since April 2021 and looking to go back this coming Monday from my preferred way - Bradford Ridge. I've been reading a lot about how crowded it is now (particularly with a textile crowd), is this the case on weekdays as well? Also read a report about vandalism to vehicles at Bradford Ridge - has this continued or was it a one off time? Any insight is appreciated -by awpangle - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I’ve started to use the Bradford Ridge trail as my preferred way, only due to avoiding the dirt road at Bowen and shorter drive time from LA. I actually find the trail relatively easy, move at a pretty quick pace, and always pack plenty of water; however, like all the previous discussions say that last half mile is no joke. I’ve gone both routes (steep and less steep) at the end and they’by awpangle - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Has anyone gone up to check it out since the status has been re-established? Since it's going to be a hot one this weekend was thinking of heading up there on Saturday or Sunday afternoon, wondering how it is?by awpangle - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Thank you sir!by awpangle - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Paul P. I've always done the Vivian Creek route and its pretty popular so free hiking is a little difficult, also the trail itself is quite strenuous so be prepared. Like Neogeo said people posting summit pics in the buff is sometimes expected; however, it can be quite chilly and windy up there so again be prepared hahaha!!! One time I did have the summit to myself but I got up there late in thby awpangle - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Awesome! Lucky that you're making the trip on the 9th, I've always wanted to go to one of the organized naturist hikes but haven't been able to. And this time I'm actually taking a group up Mt Baldy that day haha. So the wife and I are playing hooky from work and going Tuesday the 12th. Fingers crossed she enjoys it and gets hooked like I did (I do a lot of Free Hiking in the Angeles Nationalby awpangle - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
birdbrain, I love the Bradford Ridge Path. Parking is free and it's just fun hike, like Neogeo said it is more of a path but as Wizard said well defined. I'm a regular hiker as well and I found the challenge of climbing out rather fun, but I'm a sucker for that kind of thing haha! I'm also taking my wife on Sept. 12 (just going for the day so no camping unfortunately), it'll be her first tby awpangle - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Thanks Wizard, your advice is always sound. That's what I had planned on the way out taking the less steep way and taking our time.by awpangle - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I can't make the Sept 9 Group Trip but I'm gonna be heading down on Tuesday Sept 12 if anyone else will be. It will be my wife's first time at the springs and her first time free hiking (well we'll see but she's agreed to at least be nude at the springs)! Fingers crossed she gets hooked; however, I don't know how she couldn't. We'll most likely be taking the Bradford Ridge route to shave off sby awpangle - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

Cool cool, yeah ever since my first Monday trip I've only gone mid week, like you I usually prefer those days. I've just got this Friday off and I'm itching to go bad! So I may just head out and see how it is. When my wife and I go, we'll most likely go one of the mid week days. Hope to run into Hippie Dave one day, hasn't happened yet or if he was there I didn't realize it.by awpangle - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Going on a hiking trip to the Sawtooth Mountains in late August for 3 days out of the the Redfish Lake area. Would like to try and find some springs to soak in post hiking, just curious if there are any in the Stanely/Redfish Lake area that are clothing optional or should I expect to remain in a swimsuit? All good either way! Can't wait to explore the area looks amazing, planning on skinny dby awpangle - U.S.A. Hot Springs
Neogeo I read about the April trip and bummed I missed it! Last trip I took down was July of last year (my first time using Bradford Ridge), and I'm really itching to get back soon. My wife FINALLY wants to go and she said she'll hike it nude with me for my birthday in August...but only if we go mid week haha. It'll be her first time there and first time free hiking, so hope to find others theby awpangle - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Does anyone from this group ever go outside of these dates? Just curious since I missed the one in June and will possibly make the one in September. I usually do the hike solo and free of course! But some company is always welcome.by awpangle - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Anyone gonna be there next Wednesday? Gonna hike Bradford Ridge again, even with the climb out I loved it.by awpangle - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
What tree is she speaking of? Anyway, I'm possibly going back next Wednesday 9/7 - I love that way in; however, I'm a sucker for a challenge so the hike out is definitely an ass kicker!by awpangle - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Hit me up here if anyone is interestedby awpangle - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
