I was taught (not around here) to signal distress to a helicopter by standing still and raising my arms. Because anyone who isn't in distress waves at them. I had a good soak here back in March and everything's the same now. The tub's doing fine. It's not in a beautiful spot, but my guess would be that it never was. The ten mile hike in took 3.5 hours. The ten mile hike out took 4.5 hours. The trail's in great condition and there's no serious climbing. I hiked in to Willett this morning. Sespe Creek is totally dry - easy to cross, not so easy to swim in. I wonder if there's drinking water at the cabin - not sure about that. I saw nobody at all on the ten miles out, just one tent at Bear Creek. The pipe from the spring was out of alignment, so the tub was half empty and stone cold.
