Thanks for forwarding my plans. I'm sure they will see me hiking with my gear and ask us question. Which is the main reason I came to this site first to get information and rules. Now I know I need to camp a mile away. Anything else you want to add? Or you can give me the rangers email and I could forward it to them directly, and save yourself the trouble You're such a nice guy, hahaby Paintballer - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
So I Plan to camp at deep creek this spring. I do not plan to go to the hot Spring, I plan to take the 173 to Hook Creek Rd. From there the pavement turns into a dirt road and there is a little bridge. (I've seen a lot of ATV's and dirt bikes). Anyways, I plan to hike up the creek a bit. I've seen some guys fishing and also there are these cliffs people jump off of. I will be going with a gby Paintballer - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
This is the kinds of stuff that scares me. WHY do people do this? I really want to go again, but I am scared of taking my car. if only there were some kind of enclosed lot or ranger at parking, but that might be too much to ask for. I hate the few that ruin it for the rest of us.by Paintballer - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
The cement road bridge that cars cross over to park next to the creek and the sandy area. It's about 1/4 - 1/2 mile from Aztec Falls.by Paintballer - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
So yesturday me and my friends head up to deep creek, I think it's by aztec falls, it's at the very end of Hook Creek drive, the other cliff jumping spot. Anywyas, when we get there at 10:00am there are already people by the bridge with their kids playing, on the hike up there were 2 fishermen fly fishing, I asked if he's had any lunk and he said he got 2, I talked to him a little more and heby Paintballer - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Yes andrew I read this already. I have talked to a ranger that said, 200 ft and a ranger that said a mile from the creek so it is debatable, but to make it safe I would be to about a mile or it. I was also going to go down to the ranger station and get a fire permit for my little propane tank. But it looks like I will not be going after all, my friend bailed on meby Paintballer - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Wow! this is amazing! I hope they find some kind of evidence or something that links them . Good job!by Paintballer - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I take it, it is ok to drink that water Wizard is talking about? But only from the copper pipe that goes into the crab cooker right? How hot is that water? Would it melt my camel sack? Could I boil that water and mix it into my camp food? I was going to bring tons of water but now I think I could use that water right? It would make my load to carry a lot easier. Edit* does anyone knowby Paintballer - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

According to the website: http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/sanbernardino/faq/#How_do_I_reserve_a_campsite_ it says at least 200 feet, they say a mile as a general rule I guess? It also says to check with the ranger station when I go up to get a fire permit, which people have told me are free... fire permits only permit propane, not wood or charcol fires. 3 more days. I love hiking and camping 1by Paintballer - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Awesome. We are always careful, we clean up all the brush away from the fire, dig about 3 inches around, place rocks around the propane fire tank. Afetr we place the rocks back and fill the hole back up I know we are only 24 and 25, but we're not stupid. he is more advanced camper than I am. Thank you for the infoby Paintballer - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Thank you for the information. Last time we camped illegally, because we were unaware, and we got stopped by the ranger on the way out, he was ok with us because we had an extra trash bag and carried all out trash out. This time we will camp at least 200ft from the creek and get a fire permit for a stove top. I want to make camping up there a bi weekly routine. I am only 24 years old, have onby Paintballer - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I read the San Bernardino website and it said, camping is to be at least 200 feet from the creek. How much would a fine be if we get caught camping by the creek? I understand it is illegal, but what are the consecuences? how much would a fine be?by Paintballer - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
