I hiked the Bradford Ridge Trail at the end of March. I had brought some clippers and gloves along to take care of that patch of poison oak but it turned out to be far more than I remembereby summernudist - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I'm planning on visiting the springs on Saturday 25mar06 (yes, I'll brave the cold), I'm planning on hiking via the Bradford Ridge trail, and I was wondering what shape the dirt section of hwy 173 was in, just in case other friends want to join me. Two years ago it was fine, but last year after all the rains, the road was pretty rutted and I was glad I was in a high clearance vehicle. -rogerby summernudist - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I hiked to DCHS via the Bradford Ridge trail on 4/3/2005, and can verify that the pavement ends just north of Kinley Creek. I drove in from the north (I-15 to 138 to 173), so I can't verify how long it would take to get there from Lake Arrowhead. Coming from the north, I drove via the ~5 miles of dirt road that starts just west of Arrowhead Lake Road near the Mojave Forks Dam.
