Joel it's doable in 2 wheel drive. However, the very last mile or so of the road near the old decommissioned power plant is pretty rough and you may need to park and walk in. Also remember the Verde River may be high so you may need an inflatable kayak or some sort of flotation device to get to the springs which are on the opposite side.
