Sam, Little Caliente as it stands was actually constructed by some folks who lived on Mountain Drive in Santa Barbara. They are all dead now. As you can see, no one maintains it. I would suggest you call the Forest service office on Hollister in Goleta. Look up Los Padres national forest online for the number. Did you drive all the way to the springs? I thought the gate was permanently locked at Santa Ynez campground so you had to hike or bike in.
