Santa Lucia Ranger District Roads to Close for Paving Operations

Los Padres National Forest officials today announced that road paving work on the Santa Lucia Ranger District will temporarily close three popular roads beginning May 28 until June 21. These roads will be closed to the public from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday through Friday. The closure will affect Sunset Valley Road (Forest Road 8N09) from Cachuma Saddle to Nira Campground; Figueroa Mountain Road (Forest Road 7N07) from the Forest boundary to Cachuma Saddle; and Happy Canyon Road (Forest Road 7N07) from from the Forest boundary to Cachuma Saddle to allow crews to safely conduct paving operations.

Motorized travel to and from Davy Brown and Nira Campgrounds will be impacted during this time, and visitors are encouraged to call the Santa Lucia Ranger District at (805) 925-9538 with questions related to this project.
