The Bureau of Land Management and cooperating agencies have extended the public comment period on the Casa Diablo IV geothermal project environmental document for 15 days.

The BLM Bishop Field Office and cooperating agencies, the Inyo National Forest and the Great Basin Unified Air Pollution Control District, have extended the public comment period on the Casa Diablo IV Geothermal Development Project Public Draft Joint Environmental Impact Statement and Environmental Impact Report. Comments on the draft document will now be accepted through January 30, 2013.

“The cooperating agencies have decided to extend the public comment period due to the complex nature of the draft document and the concurrence of the initial comment period with the recent holiday season. We are all committed to ensuring the public has ample opportunity to provide meaningful comments on this important project,” said Bernadette Lovato, BLM Bishop Field Office manager.

To ensure comments will be considered, the BLM must receive them by Jan. 30, 2013. Comments received or postmarked after the due date will be considered to the extent practicable.

Additionally, CD-ROM versions of the Draft EIS/EIR may be obtained by contacting the Bishop Field Office.
