Thanks for the heads up, Paul. I made it a habit to check that site once a day.
I fixed the pipe assembly to the square pool at Big Caliente. But the whole assembly is shaky
and will require a complete rework. The hoses to the creek pools are leaking big time. If you go there
please bring something to cut the hoses, put extensions and then attach lengths of hose.

I hope the road will reopen for the spring season.
I got some plans to fix up Little Caliente HS. I'd like to fix the upper pool's drainage so it can
empty completely. The floor needs to be resurfaced as well.

The middle pool needs to be emptied of all the sediment. I think it can drain independently but the drainage is plugged by
rotten dirt. I need to remove over 4 feet of dirt and check it out. Gutters should be placed on the hill side to avoid rain runoff from
going to that pool. If the pool can not be drained independently, I need to cement a 4" PVC pipe to the side wall. Currently,
that drainage is controlled by some rocks and piles of rotting dirt. What some people call a sediment is actually 4 feet of rotting
smelly crap from the rain runoff. I almost never soak in the middle and bottom pools.

I see no reason why the bottom pool should be so deep. I'd like to pour 2 feet of concrete on the floor and install new drain pipe
if the rangers give me OK, so it drains better and all the sediment does not end up on the bottom. Once on the bottom, the sediment
just accumulates there without ever seing any sunlight. Once we provide good drainage,
the pools can be cleaned regularly, so the hot springs can be restored to thei former glory.

These are my plans. I need to run them by the rangers so we can be on the same page. Does anybody here know them personally
and can present these plans?

I will make a call for volunteers in the springs on this site as I left soakersforum.com due to some disagreement with the
site ownership and moderators.

Best,

Sam D.
