Hi Joel, a couple of things for you to keep in mind. That's a great hike, but make sure you start plenty early, as it always takes a lot longer coming up than going down. Be sure to take a flashlight in case your hike out starts late.The river should be OK to cross unless there is another major rainstorm. However, to be sure, call the Los Padres Ranger Station in Goleta and ask them about the river flow. Also, make sure you and your friends do not leave anything valuable in your cars at the trailhead. There have been some car break-ins recently, and even one car got stolen, so take necessary precautions.
