Just came back from a trip to Remington.
The lowest pool is already under water and the middle one only 2" above the creek.
It won't be long for the entire spring to go under considering snow melt in the mountains.
At around 3PM we overheard gun shots with an automatic weapon. People are still edgy
after last month target practice by 2 idiots who kept entire spring population ducking under
rocks for 2 hours. A report was made and police and ranger showed up later.

Remington volunteers no longer go CO at the springs. That and no bleach are
the unofficial conditions for the springs to be left alone for now.

Last week meeting between the forestry and the volunteers got canceled for time conflict.
This makes me to renew the call for petition drive we've circulated earlier:

Hot Spring lovers know how rare and precious Natural Hot Springs are.

Unfortunately the Forest Service is considering demolishing the Remington Hot Springs, which have been
beautifully maintained by Friends of the Remington Hot Spring volunteers for over 10 years.

Local residents and others are ready willing and able to address any valid concerns the Forest Service may have,
but right now we need your help.

In just TWO MINUTES you can help by submitting a letter using pre-drafted comments or your own comments,
which will be hand delivered to the Sequoia National Forest voicing your support for keeping the Historic Natural Remington Hot Springs open to the public.

Click the link below to submit your comment letter and thank you for taking action to help keep the Remington Hot Springs from possibly being destroyed.
