A vegetation fire has charred at least 25 acres this afternoon near Highway 101 and Palmer Road north of Los Alamos, according to Capt. David Sadecki of the Santa Barbara County Fire Department. The Palmer Fire began about 1:20 p.m., and flames are moving at “a moderate rate,” Sadecki said shortly after the blaze began.
