Responsible use of public lands is a policy that will benefit everyone. When working with the BLM on WEMO route designations, we were successful in removing some proposed routes that would invite tresspass onto private property. Our local group the FOJF does not oppose OHV use in the Juniper Flats area. We encourage the responsible management and designation of appropriate routes of travel.
In light of the recent discussions involving OHV tresspass upon posted private property, it is completly absurd to suggest a private property owner sell his holdings because a few punks continue to violate the law. The solution is to enact strong laws that involve confiscation of vehicles as a penalty. Local property owners suffering repeated tresspass are in reality crime victims and are entitled to compensation of damages.
Certain individuals in the area have declared a "war" involving their arrogent and misguided belief that they can ride motorcycles wherever they want and nobody is going to stop them. As this behavior is documented and reported, the extent of the problem becomes very clear. Look for stronger laws in the future as a result.
