...FAST MOVING WINTER STORM WILL AFFECT SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
SUNDAY...

A WINTER STORM DEVELOPING OVER THE EASTERN PACIFIC WILL APPROACH
SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA SATURDAY NIGHT...THEN MOVE ACROSS THE REGION
SUNDAY. SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS WILL MOVE THROUGH THE
AREA LATE SATURDAY NIGHT AND SUNDAY. HEAVIEST SHOWERS ARE LIKELY
WITH THE PASSAGE OF THE COLD FRONT SUNDAY MORNING. BRIEF HEAVY RAINS
COULD RESULT IN MUD AND ROCK SLIDES IN THE BURN AREAS. HEAVIEST
RAINS ARE MOST LIKELY IN SAN DIEGO COUNTY AS THE STORM TRACK IS
EXPECTED TO BE NEAR THE CALIFORNIA-MEXICO BORDER.

THIS WILL BE A COLD STORM AS SNOW LEVELS WILL BE NEAR 4000 FEET.
ALTHOUGH THIS WILL BE A FAST MOVING STORM...SNOWFALLS COULD LOCALLY
EXCEED 6 INCHES ABOVE 5000 FEET. A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MAY BE
NEEDED IN THE MOUNTAINS SUNDAY. GUSTY WINDS...LOCALLY EXCEEDING 40
MPH...WILL OCCUR IN THE MOUNTAINS AND CAUSE LOCALLY REDUCED
VISIBILITIES FROM BLOWING SNOW.

ISOLATED FUNNEL CLOUDS OR WATER SPOUTS WILL ALSO BE POSSIBLE OVER
THE COASTAL WATERS.

PEOPLE IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA WITH OUTDOOR PLANS SUNDAY...ESPECIALLY
THOSE PLANNING TRAVEL INTO OR THROUGH THE MOUNTAINS...ARE URGED TO
STAY UPDATED ON THIS DEVELOPING COLD WINTER STORM.
