That roadgrader dude that is on the machine now is new. The last road grader dude that used to run the grader was a welder that I used to work with. His name was Hugh Long. He Helped me build a couple of the big malls in So.California. He retired and was able to work that grader and not go over his limit, and still collect his full retirement bennys. He had a neat cabin up near Fawnskin. His wife was really nice. He died in his sleep a few years back. His wife died a few weeks later, probably from heart break.
He was really good on that grader.
Once we parked his grader and hiked back to little Tahiti falls. His wife carried a bucket of her home fried chicken and rice. It was just one of those perfect days, being in the right place at the right time.
Days like that are what you live for.
Days like that are why I keep going back to hike them thar hills.
Know What I mean?
