Well today I figured I'd take a stab at reaching DCHS to get some photos of the impressive snowfall we have received in the last couple of days. I was finally stopped by snow too deep to continue, and even too deep to really make any sensible attempt to hike to DCHS from the point I was stopped. My pooches were even supprised and perplexed at how to move around in the deep white stuff. They looked like deers, jumping up and down, trying to make headway. I tried three differant ways up, and dug myself out three times. Turn arounds are certainly challenging in 20 inches of snow, which was present up there off the Bowen Ranch RD, and beyond The Village area. Also when its that deep there are hidden " supprises " that want to spoil your fun, like deep unseen ruts :-) The last dig out I did on Luna Vista Rd was the deepest, but with " Thumbs UP " Rock in view in the distance, I knew that things would end well, oh yeah, and always keep a couple of pieces of carpet handy when traveling in snow, used mine twice this day :-) Face the carpet down and drive your wheel onto the rough underside. Also keeps you from spinning and sinking. I put new photos at the Wizard's pictures link taken on today's adventure, page 48, last six pics. Looks like we will just have to imagine just how beautiful DCHS must look in all of this snow :-)
