The Munchkins and I hit Deep Creek today. This morning when I soaked in our hot tub about 9AM I noticed that there were some high clouds south and east of our home in Apple Valley. I checked out the Weather Channel satelite photos ( on the 8's of every hour :-) ) and it showed cold air coming down from the north with the cloud bank I had seen moving south. The rest of the air mass north of our area was completely clear. Late in the day while down in the Deep Creek canyon we noticed that some clouds were starting to appear from the north. By the time we were heading back down the Bowen Ranch road it was raining lightly. That was a big supprise given what I had seen in the morning on the Weather Channel Satelite image. Well we need all the rain we can get! It was a wonderful day down there at Deep Creek, still lots of great colors along the creek, and its real nice seeing the stream flowing again after the parched summer conditions :-)
