I received the following more accurate report from the Forest Service.
"October 20 Scott Parker appeared in Federal District Court in Riverside for
trial in the 6 Violation Notices (VN) Ranger Bard Burns issued him on May 21, 2004. After consultation with Parker's court appointed defense attorney and the Acting United States Attorney (AUSA) it was decided that the government would drop 2 VN's which were, 1) 261.58(d) Possession of Glass Containers and 2) 261.58(l) Being in the Area After Sundown; Parker pled guilty to the remaining 4. Magistrate Judge Larson accepted Parker's Guilty Plea of the following--
Title 36 Code of Federal Regulations Sections,
1. 261.16--Failing to Pay a Special Use fee-No Adventure Pass;
2. 261.11(c)--Placing near a stream any substance which dose pollute;
3. 261.58(e)--Illegal Camping, Deep Creel;
4. 261.52(a)--Building, maintaining, or attending or using a fire,
campfire or stove fire
Scott Parker was sentenced to:
$220.00 fine for 4 Violation Notice;
3 years probation;
Ordered to stay off the San Bernardino National Forest for 1 year."
