...RAINY WEATHER PATTERN TO CONTINUE FOR SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA THROUGH
WEDNESDAY...
...A FLOOD WATCH FOR FLASH FLOODING FOR THE BURN AREAS OF
SANTA BARBARA COUNTY EFFECTIVE FROM 3 PM TODAY UNTIL 3 PM
WEDNESDAY...
...A FLOOD WATCH FOR FLASH FLOODING FOR THE BURN AREAS OF VENTURA
AND LOS ANGELES COUNTIES EFFECTIVE FROM 8 PM TODAY UNTIL 3 PM
WEDNESDAY...
RAIN WILL REDEVELOP NORTH TO SOUTH ACROSS SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
TODAY...AS THE NEXT IN A SERIES OF PACIFIC STORMS PASS THROUGH THE
AREA.
BEGINNING FIRST ALONG THE CENTRAL COAST MID MORNING...THE NEXT STORM
WILL PACK A GREATER PUNCH WITH MORE RAIN AND GUSTIER SOUTH WINDS.
THESE SOUTH WINDS WILL HELP ENHANCE THE RAINFALL IN OROGRAPHICALLY
FAVORED LOCATIONS SUCH AS OUR WEST TO EAST MOUNTAIN RANGES. RAINFALL
TOTALS WILL BE IMPRESSIVE FOR OCTOBER...RANGING FROM 1 TO 3 INCHES ON
THE COAST AND VALLEYS AND FROM 3 TO 6 INCHES IN THE FOOTHILLS AND
MOUNTAINS. SOUTH TO SOUTHWEST FACING MOUNTAIN SLOPES AND FOOTHILL
REGIONS ARE EXPECTED TO RECEIVE THE HIGHEST TOTALS. RAINFALL COULD
LINGER WELL INTO WEDNESDAY ACROSS VENTURA AND LOS ANGELES COUNTIES
WHICH COULD BRING HIGHER RAIN TOTALS TO THAT PORTION OF OUR REGION.
THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR HIGH INTENSITY RAINFALL FROM THIS EVENING
THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING. RAINFALL RATES UP TO ONE INCH PER HOUR
WILL BE POSSIBLE. THESE RAINFALL RATES COULD WELL CAUSE FLOODING OR
DEBRIS FLOWS IN THE BURN AREAS. A FLOOD WATCH HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR
FLASH FLOODING FOR THE BURN AREAS OF SANTA BARBARA COUNTY EFFECTIVE
FROM 3 PM TODAY UNTIL 3 PM WEDNESDAY...AND FOR THE BURN AREAS OF
VENTURA AND LOS ANGELES COUNTIES BEGINNING AT 8 PM TODAY UNTIL 3 PM
WEDNESDAY.
SNOW LEVELS ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN QUITE HIGH DURING THE PEAK OF THE
STORM...BUT WILL LOWER TO RESORT LEVEL ON WEDNESDAY IN THE POST
FRONTAL SHOWERS. CONSEQUENTLY...ACCUMULATING SNOW WILL ONLY BE ON THE
HIGHEST PEAKS THROUGH MUCH OF WEDNESDAY. A FEW INCHES OF SNOW COULD
ACCUMULATE DOWN TO 6000 FEET WEDNESDAY NIGHT. GUSTY WINDS CAN BE
EXPECTED WITH THIS STORM SYSTEM...ESPECIALLY IN THE MOUNTAINS AND
DESERTS...WHERE WIND GUSTS OF 40 TO 50 MPH WILL BE POSSIBLE.
