For pure ease of parking, I'd suggest paying the 5 bucks at the Bowen Ranch Gate, parking there, and then hiking down the trail. Although the BLM routes get you closer, I would not suggest them for low-slung 2 wheel drives. Indeed as Wizard mentioned the hike from Bowen is slightly longer, but I justify it by the increased exercise I receive. Also, half the fun is hiking naked down the trail to the springs. I've been doing it for 20 years and have never had a problem.
Again, be vigilant of your surroundings. I've had several items stolen by Apple Valley punks who hang around Deep Creek. If you perceive any trouble occurring, just leave. Otherwise, continue to enjoy this magical place.
