On Saturday September 25 Deep Creek Volunteers will be hosting a Fall clean up day to coincide with our monthly meeting. The good news is that I visited the springs twice this weekend and found very little trash to start with. On top of this, Frank was down there on Saturday so he took care of the little there was. The bad news is that the USFS will not be joining us to clean up on the 25th as originally planned.
However, we will still have our clean up day and meeting. All DCV members and non-members are welcome to meet at 10:00 a.m. at the Bowen Ranch parking lot. We will then start to hike down equiped with small bags and will stop and deviate from the trail to collect any trash that can be seen from the trail itself. It will probably take us an hour and a half or less depending on how many volunteers we have to make it down to the springs while cleaning up. Children that are old enough to hike down and up again are welcome.
We will probably try and spread out in the afternoon and clean up and down stream from the springs. Hope several of you can make it. If you can please bring supermarket bags or trash bags, any pick up tools, gloves, a hat or cap , some food and plenty of water.
