The illegaly created OHV trail "J1299" is in direct violation with the federal ACEC management plan. The public does not have "the right" to create new motorcycle trails wherever they want. This is especialy true in areas that have been recognized as sensitive due to ecological or cultural criteria. The "important connector trail" Katrina speaks of is redundant in nature and is the cause of conflict with nearby private property owners due to noise pollution and tresspass issues. It also disturbs wildlife accessing the riparian area that are sensitive to human activity.

It seems like Katrina is supporting Mike Castro and the outlaw element of the "OHV enthusiast" community who defy and disrespect federal and state laws. Once again, we have a thread started by "her" that personaly attacks an individual, Mojave Green.

Was Katrina a participant in the WEMO public input process for the Juniper Sub Region? Did she attend any of the special public meetings held by the BLM in regard to route designation within the Juniper Flats Sub Region? Did Katrina question the inclusion of J1299 after the public comment period hed closed. Did Katrina read the recent BLM decision to keep cattle off the Round Mountain Grazing Allotment due to the many holes in the allotment fences from illegal OHV activity? Has Katrina spoken to Ranger Brad Burns of the USFS in regard to "motorcycle enthusiasts" riding off the BLM lands and into the Deep Creek roadless area by cutting even more fences.

The public is free to enjoy the special beauty of the Juniper Flats area in a multitude of ways. What local residents want to avoid is the willful destruction of the natural beauty by certain recreational uses and the degradation of a place we love and cherish . The time is now. Anyone observing illegal OHV activity in the Deep Creek area is urged to contact ranger Brad Burns at the USFS Sky Forest Ranger Station.
