Hey Rick, who said anything about planting xeno trees, these are willows. Does your kind of " thinking " say we should go ahead and yank out those ugly miniature palms above the womb since they are non-native to the area. Next time you go to the springs take a hike up to the indian camp and look at the amazing restoration work the forestry has done in the area. They put straw ( which has turned grey ) all over a hillside there and planted plants which are mostly dead or will be by summers end. They placed big long rolls of straw on the hillside for erosion control along with big hay bales, what a laugh. The only thing that looks way out of place is what they have done. They acheived nothing and wasted alot of our taxpayer money and these are the people you think we should consult for improvements at the springs? I like the fact that someone showed the effort and interest to plant a nice shade tree at the springs. I didn't plant the tree but the idea appeals to me. Do you really think there going to close the springs because the Wizard likes the idea of a willow at Deep Creek. If this issue of non-native trees becomes a worry to the authorities its not like it would be an enormous project for them to come take them out. Let me know when the thought police come to close the springs because of what I think.
