So whats your point Katrina? Harold Johnson is supervising recreation chief for the BLM office. This means he administers the BLM open OHV areas. He is not an archeologist.
The illegaly created motorcycle trail J1299 was added to WEMO after the public comment period had ended. Mojave and I were able to protest as previous commenters within the Juniper Sub Region. Only those on record as having previously commented were allowed further input in the WEMO process. Is Katrina included in this exclusive group? Or the rest of the public?
The satalite maps published on this website showed clearly that J1299 did not exist in 1995. The ACEC management plan prohibiting motorized use off designated routes was officialy signed in 1988. Did Harold Johnson inform Katrina of this? I think not. Why has the BLM refused to follow its own laws? Why did Ranger Nelson allow his OHV patrol to ride freely within the ACEC during the sensitive recovery period after the Willow Fire when the whole area was closed to human entry?
As far as booby traps, I have found no evidence of any during my extensive hiking experience on and off trails within the last three years. As a hiker, I am at direct risk of being severly injured in the backcountry by one of these devices. After local residents start asking questions, the booby traps appear. The BLM is feeling the heat right now thats for sure and this Juniper Flats property owner will not be intimidated into silence by fabricated evidence intended to discredit those who question the BLM/OHV agenda.
Its time for our public servants to be held accountable for their actions.
