My wife, the Munchkins and I went up to the upper areas of Grapevine Canyon today. I put a couple of pictures at the Wizard's pictures link of more flowers encountered along the way. There was a section of the road which begins up a wash with steep sides that had about a quarter mile section of the thickest bunch of yellow flowers I can remember seeing. They went from the road all the way to the top of the hill on the right hand side, and oddly enough, basically no flowers on the left hand side of the same road, something differant about the two sides for sure :-) We took a nice hike up in that area of interesting rocks and near the end of the day 3 motorcycle riders went by the area we were at, very obviously not riding on any established, or legal trail for that matter. Sorry Laughing Bear, I could not get any picture of them since they were to far away to have made much differance in a photo. They one guy got in a tough spot on the hillside and stalled his bike, then chewed up alot of ground trying to make his way back up to his friends, once he finally got his machine started. They obviously had no qualms about going where they wanted to, leaving damaged hillsides behind them. Once they went on thier noisy way we got back to enjoying the peace of this beautiful warm clear day, at one of the places I find so inspiring, in this area of the desert :-)
