What has been uncovered with the photo documentation is a smoking gun that is in the hands of the BLM. There are some really tough questions that the BLM is reluctant to answer. Why has the BLM allowed a motorcycle trail to be created through the heart of an Area Of Critical Environmental Concern designed to protect a cultural area from this exact type of damage? Why were BLM sanctioned OHV volunteers allowed unlimited access to ride motorcycles off designated routes within the ACEC during the Willow Fire Closure? Why is there no BLM law enforcement to protect this ACEC as stated in the management plan? What happened to the funds designated for ACEC protection? Why does the BLM deny requests by concerned citizens to close the motorcycle trail that is damaging the cultural area? Why did Mike Castro threaten to run over and shoot at hikers documenting this damage? Why did the BLM not acknowlege the existance of the illegal J1299 prior to the closure of the public comment period for WEMO in 2003? Why are local property owners facing retaliation from outlaw OHV riders with fencecutters. Why did a motorcyclist aim his dirt bike directly at a hiker along the edge of Bowen Ranch Road? Inquiring minds would like to know the answer to these questions and a few more. One thing is for sure, this area is getting a lot of attention from folks far away who are now asking these questions. Its gone much further than the ol Deep Creek Phorum.
