Good suggestion Mojavegreen, but unfortunately Mr. Castro will not partake in any meeting with anyone. That is what he's indicated to me while speaking to him in the 3 or 4 weeks in person.

I thinks he's simply frustrated over the fact there's a group being formed that do not see what he and other OHV enthusiats want, that being having to freely ride through the ACEC by way of J1299. He and those like him want to ride and make or create trails that only they themselves decide on and not for the rest of us in the decision making process of trails.

He and other OHV'ers say the ACEC is not a cultural site, ...... We say it is.
He and other OHV'ers say J1299 is an open and leagl to ride, ...... we say it is not.
There's no gray area here.

We'll never get him into a meeting no matter who attends. To me the message is clear. He's frustrated and he's indicated to me that he's had it with just about everyone on the mountain. I truly don't see a meeting with him from the way it sounds while speaking with him.

I intend to remain friendly with him and hope he feels equally the same about being friendly with me even though we do not see eye-to-eye on this one. For the most part, he's been an asset to the hot springs area, but lately he's taken a different direction is this OHV / trail or route thing and I've begun to wonder about what he and other OHV'ers are doing. He and the OHV community see their recreational sport as something that really belongs in the sub-region and I highly disagree.

We can talk all we want, but nothing will change until laws are finally set into place. Until that time we need to defend what we stand for and believe in and to work with the BLM in making things right in the JF sub-region.
Hang in there !!!
