Re: Bradford Ridge Trail

Eastbay, Also you might be interested in seeing some shots I have taken along this trail. The first ones can be found at the link below " Wizards pictures ". On page one picture #2 shows my munchkins hiking on a portion of this trail just coming out of the canyon you hike in. Just around the corner behind the kids is the barbed wire fence. The big canyon in the background is the deep creek canyon. To other pictures are on page two, picture number 6 and 12. Pic 6 shows my two dogs resting at a point right by the barbed wire fence. The fence was just behind me in this shot. This pic looks back up the canyon you hike in and in the distance you can see a rocky hill which is close to where you park . Pic 12 is just below this same rocky hill. The parking area is just up the hill which goes out of the picture on the right. One note, these pictures were taken before this trail had been improved recently, it is very clear now. The rest of the pictures can be found at the link below " More hot spring pictures ". On page one, pic #1 is looking south from this trail and the ridge at the center of this shot is the one that the Bradford ridge trail runs up and through the low pass above and slightly left of the ridge and back to 173. From the top of that pass back to the parking area takes about 35 minutes at a good pace. The hotsprings are at the far left of this picture down in the canyon. Page one Pic #2 shows the view from the trail I've told you about at the point you reach the barbed wire fence. In this shot I am standing at the fence so it is not visible in this pic. The dark area in the distance at center is the hotsprings area along Deep creek. On page 3 pic #5 ( second row middle ) shows a view from the Crab Cooker area at the springs looking west down the canyon. The ridge behind the pine tree is the one the Bradford Ridge trail follows once it cuts off the PCT and back to 173. So as you can see this trail comes off the hills not to far from the springs. Well that hopefully will give you a better idea of where things are at on these two trail.Wish you well on your new explorations in and around OZ :-)
