Eastbay, you should have no problems making it to the parking area around the forestry signs on route 3. When traveling route 3 there is one spot where the road splits then comes back together again in a few hundered feet. Take the road to the right on the way in, its in better condition than the one on the left. Not a big deal either way, just a bit easier. As I said before this road continues on to the lowest parking area along the Bowen trail. I find no reason to go to this Forestry parking lot since it takes more time to drive there and the trail is longer from that point to the springs. If you wish to go past the forestry signs on route 3 you'll have to decide if your car is up to the conditions you see. One last thing, make a mental note of where this trail I've told you about connects to the Bowen Ranch trail so you will find the turn off point easily on the way out. Good Luck :-)
