Hello DCR :-) I was wonderin how ya been doin. Thanks for sendin out that BM tape to Mr Abidini. Goin to Ohio eh, not exactly clothing optional conditions out there this time of year :-) Mr AZ and I climbed Luna Mtn this Saturday and the view of things up there was fantastic. The Munchkins came along and plowed up the Mtn with no problems, a couple of little hiking machines they be :-) We saw 4 deer while on top and Sparky, defied my every command and romped off after them for a good while. We also saw at one point a strange flock of birds off in the distance. AZ had a pair of 10x50 binoculars which are powerful enough to see knats on the moon! So we took a look, and found that it was a group of white pelicans, no joke! During the time that we watched them they kept rising and went amazingly high before heading off toward thier destination. From on top of Luna Mtn you can see the Deep Creek Canyon from the Mohave Dam almost all the way up into the mountains to its source area. We had the grandest birds eye view of the whole area around the Bowen Ranch and DCHS, actually in all directions, 360 degrees. The sky was blue with cool temps and very dry air, great conditions for clean skys which makes the vistas look so much closer. We peered through the binoculars checking out everything we could think of. After coming down we drove to another location and hiked to check out one of the many great rock formations in the high areas of Arrastre canyon. On Sunday the whole Wizard family went rock exploring again, and found some more really cool formations, including a natural arch of decomposed granite. It looked like the shape of a rainbow. I've got new pictures getting developed and will post them when I get the chance. Good to hear from you DCR and I hope things warm up a bit in Ohio before you arrive :-)
