The only routes open are designated as such. Everything else is closed by law however enforcement is non existant. Residents of the Milpas Highlands area are plauged by these locusts as well. The situation is out of control and the call for a seperate management area independent of the WEMO process is getting stronger. Arrastre Canyon is being destroyed with a spagetti bowl of illegal trails. The OHV crowd are cutting their own throats however as the BLM has a federal mandate to protect the resource. If local BLM district officials cannot do it on their own, a federal judge will order the area closed as has been done down in Glamis and other places. The local residents are not alone in this struggle.

So what can one person do? Report the illegal OHV activity whenever and wherever it is found......Linda Hansen
