DAILY PRESS News Article, Ware cases continue in two courts, dated September 12, 1975.
"VICTORVILLE - Two court actions concerning John A. Ware and the Bowen Ranch property were continued yesterday.
A San Bernardino Superior Court civil action, which in effect contests June ruling of Victorville Municipal Court Judge William A. Johnstone causing the Ware family to be evicted from the Bowen Ranch house on June 21, was continued for two weeks.
The basis of the action is a county survey which shows that the Bowen Ranch house lies to the east of the actual Bowen Ranch property line - toward the Moss Ranch also leased by Ware.
In the meantime, a criminal case concerning the Wares in Victorville Municipal Court awaited the arrival of Ware's attorney from the San Bernardino court, Paul Steinman.
Defendant Ware was charged with re-entering posted property when he and his family returned to the Bowen Ranch house on June 21. An eviction notice had been placed on the house (delivered to one of Ware's sons) and trespass warning signs put in place following the earlier civil action won by the New York owners of the Bowen Ranch and now being contested in San Bernardino. Testimony resumed at 10:30 this morning.
First action in Thursday's day long trial, when it finally began, was to dismiss the other members of the Ware family as co-defendants and the jury.
The trespass case is being heard by Judge Roland A. Rutledge.
