As predicted, the heavy rains caused mudlides that devastated areas burned in the recent fires. People had to be rescued from a camp in Waterman canyon and a train derailed in the Cajon Pass. Out in the Deep Creek/ Juniper Flats area we experienced some heavy rain as well and I'm sure that Deep Creek was flowing strong with all of the runnoff. Bowen Ranch road is in its usual state of post storm bumpyness but it is passable. Despite the damage to the fire areas, the rains are a welcome relief in the Juniper Flats area where the springs are in need of rejuvination after several years of drought.
