Re: USFS closure may end soon

Greetings all, here is a note Ron and I just received from Gina Thompson at USFS (4 PM Thursday December 18th):

Paul and Ron: The decision to lift the current closure that affects the Deep Creek Hot Springs was made Dec. 8th. We expected to receive notification this week that we could remove the closure signs. Due to the holidays, key staff are not available to process the Forest Orders needed to lift the existing order and implement the new revised forest closure order. I hope that they can process the necessary legal documents soon.The person in charge of facilitating this part of the process is Ken Harp in the Supervisor's Office. I will be on vacation until 1/5 and will not be available to follow up until then. I very much regret the inconvenience this has caused the volunteers and users of DCHS. The Hot Springs area is still legally closed, but I hope this will change very soon. gina
