That was the admonition BLM Ranger Barry Nelson gave two men as he cited them for gathering dead wood last winter.

Ranger Nelson's attempt to silence local residents did not work. There was a public reaction and OHV route J1299 is now closed.

Clearly angered, Barry repeated that same threat to an attendee at last Friday's BLM meeting with the public.

So be careful out there! Nelson has identified his new target. Now what will be his revenge?

As we have seen, dead wood is protected by our hero. In Barry's case, that may be in the interest of self-preservation.
